The server does not support the TLS security protocol

Problem

The server does not support the TLS security protocol.

HRESULT error: FTPLIB_E_TLSNOTSUPPORTED (0x80043116)

Cause

The server returns an error when the client sends the AUTH TLS command. This means that the server does not support the TLS security protocol to initiate a secured session.

Solution

Open a connection with the normal FTP protocol:

1. menu: File - Connection
2. Select FTP in the protocol box
3. Enter the host, username and password
4. Click OK to connect
