Constantly Retrying Download...

Hello,

I'm using the trial version of SmartFTP atm and I'm getting an issue with it constantly saying that it's retrying the download. The larger the file, the more it does it. I'm not sure what's causing the issue. The log is posted below. I've tried SFTP, FTPS+TLS, FTP...can't figure this out. The file that I'm downloading is just an example on, it happens on all files. I'm also wondering if it may have somethign to do with the speed of my connection. I have a 300 Mbps line and sometimes I see the current speed go over 41 MB/s which seems crazy and impossible. Is it trying to transfer too fast? I've put a throttle in place to keep it at 35 MB/s but it ignores it...

Most likely the server cannot cope with that many connections. Try to reduce the number of multi part transfers.

That seems wrong because when I was using LFTP before it was doing just fine. I don't think it's a server thing. What about the speed? Is it possible that transferring too fast will close the connection?

edit: and this happens with just 8 connections open which is what the support at the server said to use...

It is also the normal behavior that SmartFTP aborts the transfer when an error occurs (e.g. a connection drops). If it wouldn't wait and instead retry the connection immediately there is a high risk that the server blacklists the source IP and refuses any connections for a certain time. If you want to decrease the wait time, you can do this in the favorite properties in the Connection dialog.

Right...I understand that when there is an error the client needs to wait. I want to know what is causing the error so it can be fixed. The link you posted doesn't answer anything. I already have the logs and the error is unspecified. Why can't the client specify the error? If it's a connection issue, how difficult is it to say that?
