Can someone please help 550 Error code plus 200zzz

Friday everuything worked fine, but Sat. when I got up and tryed to upload files to my ftp,, I can't. It gets half way through em and restarts, I have checked my windows Firewall and its set to except it and not block my ftp. I have also tryed 3 different sites that I upload to and its the same thing to all 3. I don't know alot about computers, so I don't understand computer talk,, I need a step by step instruction on what might be wrong. I have 16 days left on my free time, but if I can't fix this, I don't see why I should buy it if I can't figure it out,,, please help anyone.

No there is nothing there. Its like it goes into sleep mode or something then back out.. and the folders at the top seem to act like they are always connecting if that makes since

What is Error 550?

When i try to upload some images for my site this error appears!

Campell: This is no error and you can ignore it. If you want to check the status of your transfer, please double click the file in the transfer queue. If there are no more files in the transfer it means they all have been transferred successfully.

I don't think so. I am getting the exact same message. The file goes into the queue and there is stays indefintiely. If you double click on it you get a blank box.

The 550 error appears to mean what it says. Before it uploads the ftp program checks to see if a file with the same name is already in in the destination folder. If I upload a file for which a copy already exists on the destination folder it finds the files, askes me if I want to replace it, and when I click yes , the file uploads smoothly. I don't get the message.

If I try to upload a file for which a file of the same name does not exist then I get the message that it cannot check for file existence and it sits in the queue until I delete it.

I am having the same problem,

550 -cant check for file extensions and my file is added to queue.

When I tried to connect it connects in pre transfer mode and goes to 0bytes/sec and never uploads anything.

The transfer doesn't go through due to a network problem. Add SmartFTP to the exceptions in your software firewall and antivirus products.

i still kept the trasfer going, and it says failed.

I do accept timeouts, but i cant even upload a single file onto my server what ever be the size and what ever be the time.

I'm glad you got it resolved. I don't know why it works because on the last log you sent it didn't work either. Maybe the firewall did no longer block the connection all of sudden.

Believe it or not mb the problem came back again to haunt me, and i was close to tears.

What i did is to make the connection passive first and watches whether its uploading or not, answer no.

Then i delted the queue file and changed it to active, and answer is no upload.

Got confused

changed it passive mode again, and tried to upload it didnt work, then unticked the passive to make it active it started to work when the file was on half the process of uploading.

So iS that a bug, that the software needs to work on, or is it a client side problem of mine or can it be a server side issue.

But the issue is once if the problem is solved i dont have problem on uploading for enitre session till i disconnnect and I am not sure whether the problem will come back to haunt me again.

For me it looks like a network/firewall problem.

We had such problems in the past and the problem was mostly the software firewall. Even if you have it disabled it is not completely disabled. So to make sure it has no influence temporary uninstall the software firewall and antivirus product try again.
