Good morning,
I want to make sure I have proper licensing for SmartFTP. I rely on SmartFTP for mission-critical file transfers to my website, running 24x7. My website is www.danallen.com. The live photos from around the world are the files transfered by SmartFTP from my home PC to the webserver at my remote host.
I have been extremely pleased with SmartFTP and product support.
Unfortunately, SmartFTP has been bombing (stops operating, generates Windows XP error report, shuts down) about once per day, starting about 2 weeks ago. When I saw an upgrade was available, I downloaded it, installed it, notice some new features, but unfortunately, I still get bombs. In addition, I have encountered a re-producible problem in the transfer queue, where a file name disappers following a schedule setting of "monitor."
Before requesting help with those questions regarding my installation, I wanted to make sure I have legitimate licensing. I understand that "maintenance" has expired, but I don't know if that means I am not supposed to use the product. I understand the product is fully enabled whether I purchase a new license key or not. What I do not understand is whether it is improper, potentially illegal to use of the product without a new license. Obviously, I won't run it if I know it's illegal to do so.
Any information you can provide will be extremely much apprecited.
Best regards,
Dan Allen
