There are a few possible reasons for this problem.

1. Your uploading the file to wrong directory on the remote server.

2. When accessing the file with your browser the file is read from the local browser cache. Solution: Go to IE -> Options and Empty the Temporary Internet Files cache.

3. When accessing the file/page with your browser its cached by a proxy which is physically between your client and the remote server. Solution: Wait a few days till the content on the proxy is expired. Or try to force a reload with holding the shift or control key while pressing the refresh button in your browser (internet explorer).

I hope this helps.

Thank you I did discover that I had another directory. It worked and all is well
