failed connection

Any Ideas why the program will no longer connect, not sure if by the install of a security certificate on the server means I need to change the protocol?
error shown below -
[21:54:33] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
[21:54:33] Client closed the connection.

Double checked the Password and log on and seems Ok
Any suggestions welcome!

Add SmartFTP to the exceptions in your software firewall and antivirus product settings.

thanks tried that - it was in place, have removed and re installed the rule - but no luck still the same

Try to uninstall/disable your software firewall and antivirus product. As long as you are unable to connect, SmartFTP is being blocked.

Thanks - think the problem is with the server - I have been able to conect to anoth server via SmartFTP - so guess it's one for the hosting company
