File preview for local files

I' having Windows XP Professional with SP3 German.

I have downloaded and installed the actual version of SmartFTP and also the Source Preview Handler and the NFO Handler.
When I click on a Perl source file (sample.pl) on a local directory of my PC inside the Preview Windows there is the message:
install the preview handler to preview this file.

Doesn't work the extensions only on Remotefiles?
Why doesn't work it?

Danke für die Antwort. Kann es evtl. damit zusammenhängen, daß folgende Datei bei Windows XP Professional SP3 nicht vorhanden ist?

C:\WINDOWS\system32\prevhost.exe

In der Ereignisanzeige wird nämlich beim Versuch ein Preview zu machen vom DCOM in Eventlog eine Fehlermeldung protokolliert.
Im Internet habe ich bisher auch nichts näheres bzgl. der Prevhost.exe unter Windows Xp gefunden.

Das kann schon sein. Aber wie erwaehnt der Preview Handler wird auf XP nicht supported.
