Edit text files directly on FTP server

Hi.

Yes, I can configure an external editor in the preferences to edit text files on a UNIX server, but does SmartFTP not include a feature to internally achieve this (some kind of internal editor)?

Thanks,

Understandable!
Many thanks!

... later ...

BTW ... is it not possible to suppress (avoid) the "Remote Edit" window from popping up (which lets the user decide upon manual or automatic upload)? I use SmartFTP 2.5. Thanks!

My Maintenance Expiration was 22.12.2008. Nevertheless, version 3.0 seems to work perfectly without restrictions.

How come ... ?!?!

Thanks,

There is a grace period for licensed customers.

Since not found on your homepage, I have to ask ...
How long?

Thanks,

I don't know. Around a week I would assume.

You are the coder. You should know ...

Besides this ... which restrictions apply when the "grace period" expired?

Then ... I use 3.0.1033 (on WinXP) with my 2.5 licence, and I get a window on startup saying that my maintenance expired, but all features work.

Using the same 2.5 licence (for testing purpose) on an older 3.0.1024 version (on Vista) I don't get this requester upon startup. Also there, all features seem to be enabled.

Weird!
