Hello Jack ..

You have selected the wrong protocol. Go to the menu: File->New Remote Browser. Then select "SFTP over SSH" for the protocol.

When I do that it says that feature is not available in home vdrsion and I have to upgrade to the professiona version. Now my desktop is Windows XP Pro and my laptop iv Vista. Does this make a difference.

sorry about the misspellings

Hello Jack ..

There are two editions of SmartFTP. Pro and Home. You can compare their features at:
https://www.smartftp.com/features/editions.php

SSH is only available in the Professional edition of SmartFTP.

It looks like you have the wrong username/password. Please contact your web hosting provider and make sure that you have the correct information.

That is strange as it is the same ones I use on my desktop computer as that works fine.

Mat,

Well you were right. I remembered that I upgraded my web site with my ISP and they gave me a new login and password. Everything works now. Thanks a bunch.
