Can't get version 3.0.1026.5 to connect to server

I am using the latest version of SmartFTP and trying to connect to a server that requests the protocal to be "auth TLS".
I've setup my client to use the SSL Explicit and have all other settings correctly setup based on the server administrator.
When connecting I get the following message:

standard messages of
smartftp v3.0.1026.5
resolving host name
connecting to the IP address and port 21
connected to and the host name
standard banner with the acceptable use policy

Auth TLS
234 auth TLS Successful
Connection exchanging encryption keys

then the following error message
AN ESTABLISHED CONNECTION WAS ABORTED BY THE SOFTWARE IN YOUR HOST MACHINE
connection failed

I've read some of the other knowledge base entries and I've done the following:

Please contact your web hosting provider and ask them why their server is disconnecting SmartFTP. They can find the reason in the log of the FTP server.
