Uploading database files problem

i'm trying to upload my database files to my FTP to transfer them to a new host.

the problem is when the upload gets to about 20 MB a window pops up saying there's an error and FTP needs to close, so i lose all my progress, this has happened 3 times now.

any ideas as to what the problem is?
