I have recently bought the new Smart FTP (and downloaded the beta version) after some years of using the program free as an academic user. I find that I am now getting LESS for having paid than I did when it was free.
Specifically, the problem is that instead of uploading files immediately, as it used to do, the program now seems to wait 60 seconds, not only before starting, but between each file. So to upload 45 thumbnails for a gallery now takes three quarters of an hour as opposed to a minute or two at most.
The delay of a minute is so predictable (each file seems to go through after one iteration of the NOOP cycle) that I wonder if this is built into a user setting somewhere, but I can't find how to change it. I run Windows XP, service pack 3, on a Dell Inspiron 5315 computer with Athlon processor.
Right now, it is easier to manage my uploads through Internet Explorer. Tell me what to do to be able to use the program I paid for.
Thanks -- Roger B.
