how to configure FTP on server

Hi,

Just got a new dedicated server and I need to optimise its FTP server . are tehre any good resources out there about what to do how to do it, etc? Think it is called pureFTP, and the server is running a redhat distribution?

E.g. the server will have to deal with many concurrent FTP connections form different users - is this usualyl a problem?
Also, how can I set it up so that it accepts multiple connections and I can use as many workers as possible for best speed?

We do not recommend using pureftpd. It contains numerous bug that have not been fixed and probably never will since the author has abandoned the project. We recommend proftpd.
