Editing from FTP

Is there a feature that will allow you to edit a file on the server?

WS_FTP does this, but i do like Smart FTP. It would be great to see this in a new version

Sorry i did try a search but i didnt find anything.

Another thing i was going to ask is that can you actually get the default editor for opening files? I looked through all the options but couldnt fine anything, apart from the text editor part, but i want to edit php files and this takes a long time to load

just press F4 ("execute") on your php file instead of F8 ("view") to open it with the editor you've assigned to php files.
