Double "/" in absolute path ignored by SmartFTP

Hello. I am having trouble with SmartFTP since my host moved to a new server. It appears that the server uses paths with // at the beginning and SmartFTP does not seem to like it. When I click on a folder or attempt to create a new one I get an error. It happens in build 990 and the developer build 991. Here's the log:
