Hi,
I just discovered a bug that almost caused serious trouble with my
machine.
When setting a path via the 'My network' icon it sets a Local path instead
of a network path.
Step-by-step guide.
1. Drag file into 'Queue source'
2. Rightclick and select 'Local -> Select folder...'
3. Expand the 'My network places' icon.
4. Select an icon and click ok.
If you verify the path you will notice that it is locally set to C:.
And worse is that it is set to the Nethood folder.
Here is what happens.
The files are saved in a folder in the Nethood folder that uses the same
name as the link that windows uses to get you to the network location you
thought you had chosen.
The bad thing here is that If you use windows Search feature, you wont
find the files since they can't possible exist there. Only way to get to them
is via the console (DOS prompt). Or delete that Network place Icon in
the 'My network places' to then recreate it.
This way I filled up my C: drive last night and I couldn't at first figure out
why, cause when I searched for the files they just didn't exist. The
lightbulb popped up when I noticed that the files hadn't even arrived at
the location I thought I had chosen for them.
So in the end I searched for one of the files using the console with the old
trusty dir command.
C: > dir filename /s
That gave me a path that should simply not even be possible.
The solution is quite simple though. Write the path manually in the Folder input field. computernamepath
It is just a case of being aware of the problem at this point.
Best regards
