Windows XP Pro x64

Dragging and dropping doesn't work properly with XP Pro x64. If you drag a file from explorer to SmartFTP it works fine, but dragging a file from SmartFTP to explorer creates an empty folder called SFTPDROP and no transfer takes place.

The shell extension SmartHook.dll needs to be rewritten. 32bit shell extensions do not work on 64bit.

Please try one of the following DLLs:

For IA64 (Itanium)
https://www.smartftp.com/products/smartf ... okIA64.zip

For AMD64 (Opteron)
https://www.smartftp.com/products/smartf ... kAMD64.zip

Replace the SmartHook.dll in the SmartFTP Program Files folder with the .dll in the zip. Then go to the command line, change to the SmartFTP Program Files folder and type "regsvr32.exe SmartHook.dll"

Note: The dlls are not tested :-)

What do you see when you register the dll with regsvr32.exe SmartHook.dll? Any error message?

Did you restart your system aftewards?

If you would like to communicate through msn or icq, please send me a private message through the forum with your IM number.

Thanks

Restarting did the trick Everything works perfectly now. Thanks!

Good news :-)

I've quickly wrote a KB article regarding SmartFTP and Windows 64-Bit.
