Changing the location of your data file path

I backed up my data files into a new drive, I then formatted my pc and reinstalled SFTP. I changed the data file path to the location of the backed up data files and smartftp decided to overwrite then entire lot with the defaults. I consider this a bug as smartftp should be able to check to see if there are any favourites in the new location before saving the default files to disc.

Cheers,
Tom

UPDATE: Cant reproduce the bug on the latest dev builds.

Suggestion: when you change your data path, the settings are loaded immediately can access your favourites without having to restart SmartFTP. A way to combine/merge datafiles would also be good to see, but not essential.

Cheers,
Tom

SmartFTP writtes the files/data in memory to the new location. Thus the existing files in the new location will be overwritten with the in-memory data (loaded data files from the previous location).

Its highly recomended to use the SmartFTP Backup Tool to save/restore the data files and all other settings.
