Huge files report wrong size.

When browsing an FTP and files are huge the size is reported to be much smaller. For example: I am downloading a project file of 4.5Gb from my server to my workstation and SmartFTP claims it to be 286Mb. It downloads fine, but once the 286Mb size is passed the percentage counter goes '??%'. Unfortunatly I don't know where the breaking point is and I have no possibility to investigate further.

Best regards
Patrik

My guess is the server is reporting the wrong file size.

Check the raw directory listing and post it here if the size is correct in the listing.

The user reported that the problem has been solved after cleaning up the desktop and updating WinZIP, WinRAR, and other applications which are coming with a shell extension.
