SmartFTP stay in Task Manager after close

Hi, I am using SmartFTP v 2.0.997.4.

I have found that SmartFTP doesn't really closed itself when it should. Instead it still stay at the Task Manager when ctrl+alt+del is pressed. When this happen, when run SmartFTP again, nothing happen and SmartFTP doesn't show up.

I have notice that this usually happen when there are connections that are still open or idle, for example, when my internet connection becomes lag in a connection to a ftp site, and I closed SmartFTP at that time.

Another bug is that the IN SPEED in the transfer queue doesn't reflect the real In Speed when the file transfer connections is stop. Instead it wait until timeout or when file transfer start again to updated the info.

Thanks.

Hello ..

In the worst case when a synchronous operation is in progress (e.g. dns resolve, abort of transfer), SmartFTP waits for the amount of time (timeout) you have specified in the favorite item or global settings before the process terminates. It may also happen when SmartFTP closes a connection and waits for the ack from the host server.
You can set a lower timeout to minimize the problem. E.g. 30 seconds should be enough.

I have another suggestion regarding the "SmartFTP stay in Task Manager after close". Why not let the SmartFTP to be able to reopen again while the connection haven't timeout? Opening back the one in Task Manager so that we can continue to use?

Thanks.

Yep - This is definitly a bug

I downloaded and installed the latest version (build 999) and it is still an active process in my Task Manager 8 minutes after I exited the program (and the settings were only keep alive 40 secs).

Whenever you start it up again it creates a new task (that will also never die) taking up extra system resources.

Please fix this ASAP.

THanks

Hello ..

Please install the latest version from:
https://www.smartftp.com/download

The problem was unrelated to the one from fbat.

SmartFTP

Yes - Resolved in v999.5

Thanks!
