using mulitple ports

on my PC I have a regular dial up modem (port 21) and a network adaptor that hooks into a usb port on my computer for a dsl setup, how could I find out the port number for the usb port that the dsl network adaptor plugs into or somehow get the network adaptor to work with smart ftp

PC Support:
------------------------------------
1. Your modem has nothing to do with SmartFTP client.
2. Port 21 has nothing to do with the dialup modem or the network adapter.

Note: Ensure that the computer is free of viruses, ad-ware programs. Also check to make sure that there are no software firewall applications, i.e. such as Zone Alarm, Norton Internet Firewall blocking SmartFTP from using the Internet.

Solution:
------------------------------------

1. Ensure that the DSL modem is plugged in.
2. Ensure that the Ethernet or USB cable from the DSL modem is connected to the network adapter/USB port. (Select one procedure to have Internet access).
3. Connect to the Internet
3. Download the latest SmartFTP client. (Download the developer builds if required from the download section on www.smartftp.com)
4. Run SmartFTP

Test:
------------------------------------
1. In SmartFTP, Select the Favorites menu --> SmartFTP
2. SmartFTP will connect to www.smartftp.com on port 21 over the Internet.

Note: This has nothing to do with the DSL setup/network adapter.
