'FEAT': command not understood. HELP

When I try and connect is says:
''FEAT': command not understood.'
then further down it says:
550 -L: No such file or directory.

I looked on the help section and it mentioned that you can turn off the FEAT command in setting, but I couldn't find this setting anywhere.

Any suggestions??
