How to use SmartFTP?

I need someone to explain how to use this software. Have read and watched the tutorials but need more explanation.
After getting my user name and password - how do I work in Smart FTP to download and upload.

Hi, press control+l to have a full local browser, connect to remote site, arrange the windows local on left side, remote on right side, add remote to favorites.
Then drag and drop desired files from local browser to remote site.
