SSL/TLS problem after "cleaning up" harddisk :(

I was searching my harddisk for unneeded files & directories and deleted those directories: C:Documents and Settings*all*"Application DataMicrosoftCrypto, CryptnetUrlCache & Protect.

Everything worked fine until I started Smartftp after some days and noticed that not everything was ok. :(

It gives me the following error and stops:

234 AUTH TLS successful
SSL/TLS internal error (Error = 0x1264320).

I hope you can help me without telling me to reinstall windows.
Already installed SP4 again and IE6 SP1...

Here's the Smartftp Info:

thx in advance

It seems you've deleted parts of the MS Crypto API or some certificates. Try to restore the files from Recycle Bin, or, if deleted permanently, try to use a tool like http://www.geocities.jp/br_kato/ (run from a different partition!).

Thank you for your answer. Just tried it but didn't find anything.
I dont't use the recycle bin btw.

But why does everything else work flawlessly? Only Smartftp doesn't?
Https and Outlook works just fine...

thx
Stami

I don't have a definite answer to that. For some reason SmartFTP needs these system files, it's just by accident if others don't. Try going to Settings -> Connection -> SSL, deleting your certs using the cert manager and creating a new one.

Thank you soooo much!
It worked with your last suggestion!

Thank you!
