SmartFTP --> Winroute --> SnapServer connection issue

recently installed v1.5.990 on my XP machine at home. All is fine connecting to my ftp acct. at my former ISP.

I seem to have become the IS 'admin' at my son's small Quaker school.

problem: below is one of several login displays when attempting to connect to a SnapServer 2000 thru a W95 machine running Winroute.

The WR box has 'port mapping' to pass incoming ftp traffic as well as port 80 traffic. Port 80 passthru is fine.

All firewall rules 'disabled' on the W95/WRoute box.

I am able to 'register' with the Snapserver via ftp as i can monitor the Snap box via html access and i 'see' the 'active users' ( me ) as connected, although for the brief ~ 20 seconds.

I have tried to access different directories below the initial '/ ' directory to no avail.

The Snapserver HAD Unix disabled, i renabled Unix, however some of the Unix 'directories' are missing.

I have tried the change for active/passive/Global mode !

any help much appreciated !

FTP display upon connect attempt:

the 10.10.10.nn are the remote/school
the 192.168.100.100 are my local
