Error 550: I can only retrieve regular files

What does it mean? It occurs when I start downloading any file from my isp ftp server. Other servers are going normally. Please help, I need one .tar file very much! Thanks in advance.

Try playing with the "Resolve Links" option under Settings -> Transfer.

No, playing with that does not help, tried everything. More info, it it'll help: I'm using WinXP SP2 with all latest patches, no firewall. other clients also bring the same problem. :cry:

Please always post the logs from the beginning (where the server software is detected) and the SmartFTP version you're using (Help -> About -> System Info).

Does it work if you connect to the server, show the command line (View -> Show Panes -> Command Line) and type

"RETR /incoming/-==Games==-/World Of Warcraft on-line RPG---L2 geriau /wow-installer-europe.tar"

there?

BTW: Please also use the most recent beta version. Get it from my footer.

EDIT: Okay, I think I got it. This file lies within the "incoming" directory tree. Most servers are configured in such a way that you can *see* the incoming files, but not (yet) download them until they have been verified and moved somewhere else on the server. So we can do nothing about it, talk to the server admin.

Well, I typed it in the command line, but now it shows error:
550 Can't check for file existence

Admin... he even doesn't know that I'm connected through his isp
Well, I think so, because he do not ask me to pay for internet for about 6 months!
