How to stop file transfer?

How can I stop file upload in the middle of a transfer? at the moment I just close the site window.
How can I set a view as the default view?

That depends on the transfer type you use (direct, session / global queue). For direct transfers, hit the "Abort" button on the toolbar (fifth from the left). For global queue transfers, simply delete the item from the queue (show the queue by pressing Ctrl-Q, and right-click on the file). Use of the session queue is discouraged

I use direct upload but abort button is grayed out. What do I do?

I never came across a grayed out Abort button, I don't know. Are you sure you're looking at the right button? Does your server support resuming (i.e. is there a white checkmark in a blue circle in the status bar)?
