I wonder if anyone could help.
While SmartFTP works great with my win98 machine - I get this error message with winXP:
"No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Connection closed."
And smartftp directed me to:
https://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/58
And it looks like a firewall problem - because I am able to connect with my win98 computer.
This seems to apply in my case:
"Multiple Software/Personal Firewalls
If you have both the Windows XP firewall enabled and a third party firewall software (e.g. McAfee Personal Firewall, ..) installed, disable the Windows XP firewall or uninstall the third party firewall software. There are known problems with having both firewall applications running at the same time."
So, I disabled WinXP Firewall and, "allowed" SmartFTP with McAfee.
But it still does not work!!!
Anyone has any further suggestions?
