Connecting halfway?

Hi...I'm having a problem connecting to a server...I've searched the forums like crazy and have found problems similar to mine, but it does not seem to be exactly the same (at least the solutions don't work).

I am having the typical timeout problem, but it is only after I am able to (it seems) log-in somewhat to the server...it checks my password and so forth, and appears to connect OK to the server. The timeout occurs when I try to view the files on the server or otherwise enter a command.

Anyway, here is the log. Thanks everyone in advance for your help.

Also, I have Windows firewall turned off...i have even turned it on and then made an exception for SmartFTP. I've tried Passive mode, and I've tried port 20. I've raised the timeout time to 120 seconds. I can connect to the server via IE, to view the html files that are already uploaded. I have heard rumors that XP service pack 2 (which is on my comp) causes problems, but couldn't find any specifics.

Here's the log...hopefully it is some beginner mistake:

Hi have you tried killing the alg.exe proccess? Also SmartFTP works with windows XP SP2 firewall without trouble if it's added to the exception list.

Enable Passive (PASV) mode in the Menu: Tools->Settings->Connection settings. Then post the log again.
