Basic Help Needed

Hi. I need some basic help getting my website on line. I have recently bought a domain name and webspace. I have my website ready but im having trouble using ftp to get it onto my webspace. Im using smartFTP and i dont understand the tutorials. Can anyone give me some quick advice on how to get my pages on line? Thankyou.

Please search the forum for some hints about how do to this, as this is not exactly SmartFTP related.

of course it isnt. im only asking for help on that particular program. what ever was i thinking.
