noob question

I dunno how to make a file downloadable for the public...
could someone tell me how it works?

SmartFTP is not a server application, it's "just" a client. That said, you need to have access to a server to upload to (using SmartFTP), to make a file available for the public on the Internet.

our server is located: www.loners.uni.cc

we have a forum online but I still dont know how to make normal files downloadable.

I uploaded the file into various folders but the links lead to a 404.

Basically, you can upload to any folder that contains *.html files. Just upload "something.exe" to the FTP folder that contains your "index.html" and it should be accessible at http://www.loners.uni.cc/something.exe.

but well - I made a second mistake: http://www.loners.uni.cc/TENADIA.pdf works, but http://www.loners.uni.cc/tenadia.pdf doesnt...

The server is case sensitive.
