anonymous/public access

Can someone please point me to a detailed explanation of how to make some of my files in my ftp storage publically accessible without giving out the username and password? If I copy the url, it contains both user and password, I can't have that.

So far I think I must have to set up a anonymous folder or something so people can log in anonymously, but I can't seem to find detailed instructions on how to do this in the help files.

you can't find details how to do this in smartftp's help files because smartftp is an ftp *client* program. to make a folder publically accessible you need to adjust ftp *server* program settings. please see the docs for the ftp server software you're using.

it is my isp's ftp storage they provide to me with my account, i want to make part of that publically accessible

The only way is that your ftp server allows to upload files to a webpage, it no, you can't do nothing.
