login incorrect

I need some help. I have checked and double checked my username and passwords to ensure that they are correct. Here is the log message i am receiving over and over:

Connecting to Proxy (ftp-www.wowway.com) -> IP: 64.233.207.13 PORT: 21

Socket connected waiting for login sequence.
220 ProFTPD 1.2.6 Server (ProFTPD - wideopenwest.com) [web-1.wideopenwest.com]
USER mmg029
331 Password required for mmg029.
PASS (hidden)
530 Login incorrect.


Is it possible that i am have some other setting incorrect? It seems that it is getting to the username/password part and then rejecting the input.

I have windows 2k and no firewall installed.
