upload looks successful but no file shows up in My Site

After using SmartFTP with no problems for several weeks, I now am wondering where my files are going when I upload as usual to the "My Site" folder. Could this be a host problem? I tried another FTP program (Coffeecup or something like that) and had the same problem...can connect fine, choose to upload and I get a message showing the transfer happening, but then those newly uploaded files are nowhere to be found. Please help!

seems like a server problem, e.g. it could be configured that you're not allowed to list the contents of the folder you're uploading to, which is quite common for "incoming" folders on ftp servers.
