I am not sure about this, but would like to know if it sounds familar?
I am a customer of www.u2-web.com, my ISP provider.
I use SmartFTP to upload files for my web. For the last year, occassionally and I think coorrelated with the use of SmartFTP, the ISP says I have transfered 7 Terabytes of data and they have actually charged me $845 fee for the excess. They rebated it. They have not been able to find this error on their side, but haven't seen other customers with the same problem.
Is there a possibility that the client-server exchange could mess up their file size parameters?
