No directory sizes shown in size column in remote browser

Hello,

I have recently been forced to upgrade to a 3.0 version of SmartFTP. Previously I belive I had 2.6 something
version (a beta variant). What I have noticed is that the size information for directories in the remote browser
has disappeared. This was my favourite column for sorting upon. Now the size field is just blank.
I don't know if this is intentional from your side but I just wanted to tell you about it.

A raw listing of the directory can look something like:

size=0;lang=utf8;modify=20080307233921;create=20070224220905;type=cdir;UNIX.mode
=0766;UNIX.owner=default;UNIX.group=default;win32.ea=0x00000010; .
size=0;lang=utf8;modify=20080307233921;create=20070224220905;type=pdir;UNIX.mode
=0766;UNIX.owner=default;UNIX.group=default;win32.ea=0x00000010; ..
size=8119;lang=utf8;modify=20071112011521;create=20071112010053;type=dir;UNIX.mo
de=0766;UNIX.owner=default;UNIX.group=default;win32.ea=0x00000010; XXXXXX
size=584361851;lang=utf8;modify=20071112003851;create=20071112003557;type=dir;UN
IX.mode=0766;UNIX.owner=default;UNIX.group=default;win32.ea=0x00000010; YYYYYYY

As you can see the size information is still there. It is just not displayed in the browser.

Best Regards,

/Thomas

Since directories have no size per se the size is not displayed for directories. It's the same reason the size is not displayed in Windows Explorer for folders.

A pity you removed that feature in the new version! The RaidenFTPD server supports
calculating the dir size if you want to.

It doesn't make sense to calculate the total directory size upfront.
