"Not Responding" when I try to close open tabs

Whenever I open SFTP the same connections also open with it, there are three of them. Two of the three are attempting to connect (the little icons are spinning), the third makes a connection. When I click to close any of them the program hangs and I have to open task manager to end it. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but the same three tabs opened again! I think it all started when I tried to delete a favorite connection (unrelated to these three), because it hung when it was deleting.
