Cannot establish a connection with Smart ftp

I have just uploaded Smart ftp. A;though I have filled in the fields I get an error message:
Error message 530 Login authentication failed.
Help please!!

Seems like the user name and password you're entering is incorrect... sometimes you need to add your username, with the @hostname.com attached.

Example: username@hostname.com
