SmartFTP Won't Open on Windows Vista

For some reason SmartFTP won't open on Windows Vista. It will go the "buy full version" window, but then when I click out of that it just doesn't do anything. There is no SmartFTP process running either after.

Whats wrong? I'm sure this is a common problem because it has now happened on two computers. Unfortunately I couldn't find the answer to my question on the forums.

What does the dialog say?
Either upgrade to the latest version or purchase a license. These are your options.

There is no upgrade available for this version. It is the latest. And we are supposed to be able to use an unlicensed version for non-commercial use. Read your website.
