Parameter differences b/w Direct Transfer and Transfer Queue?

When I use the Transfer Queue in Smart FTP, it automatically goes into retry mode. However, if I drag the file from the local host to the remote host, then it will transfer.

What is the difference between a Direct transfer and a Transfer Queue transfer?

Are there parameters that the Transfer Queue is looking at that are different from what the Direct transfer would be looking at?
