Changed pages and its gone mad

I deleted all the pages in the content of my web site today and the new pages wont show on the net. The home page is titled 'Default' - same as the old one, but the message that comes up on the web site is
Directory Listing Denied
This Virtual Directory does not allow contents to be listed.

At the top of the page it shows HTTP 403 Access Denied. If I try to go into the web site on Internet Explorer it just says

You are not authorised to view this page.

I have looked through all the web pages and cannot find out why they wont show up. Any ideas anyone?

No - I dont have one but I didnt have one before either. I feel sure it is a directory issue but havent a clue how to solve it.
