Need Help: Client closed the connection

Good day,

I was uploading files to my ftp account with smartftp when it stopped working. Ever since then, I have been getting error messages as below. I have tried all recommended solutions suggested at https://www.smartftp.com/support/kb/74 but it did not work.

Other things tried:
Uninstall and install smartftp again
Contacted my host provider and they say that there is nothing wrong with the ftp server
Contacted, ISP and they too say that there is no problem on their side
Switched off firewall. Did not help
Tried switching from vista to xp - did not work
Tried accessing via the url address: ftp://joeyalliance.com Could not access either

Is anyone able to give me a solution to my problem? Is it a smartftp problem or a ftp server problem or an ISP problem? I believe the tech support at the hosting company are close to waving a white flag and encouraged me to seek help here - so much for customer service

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello ..

It's a network problem. This is usually caused by a misconfigured NAT or a firewall which blocks the incoming data connection. To fix the problem on your client side add SmartFTP to the exception list in your firewall.
