Transfer Timeout annoying bug

My ftp dir has a folder with 20.000+ files into it and when I try to connect to site SmartFtp always timeout resulting in me only seeing half of whats in the dir. Is there a way to exclude a dir form being index upon connect. The timeout occurs every time i change to the root of the ftp site.

My version is 2.5.1006

So this is a no solution bug or what
