Folders with ALOT of files in it

SmartFTP us using all of my CPU when the local browser is displaying a folder with many files in it (mine contains 22,000 small images for my website). And it times out while fetching the file list for the folder with this many files in it on a remote machine. I've gotten this to work with FileZilla, but I had to disable the timeout. You cannot do this in SmartFTP. It doesn't even matter if I put 9999 (the max for SmartFTP) it still times out at 20 secs. What gives?!?

log:
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list
Transfer Timeout (20s). Closing data connection.

Hello ...

As I stated in my first post... I've already tried increasing the timeout to the max (9999) and it made no difference. Also, your response does not address the CPU useage problem.

Hello ..

I believe you didn't change the timeout value in the correct place.
For your second question. Go to the menu: View -> Auto Column Sizing and set it to Off. You can also disable Auto Sort in the same menu.

Please use the forum search the next time. All your questions have been answered before.

Settings ==> Connection is the place where I adjusted the "connection timeout" setting to 9999, is this the wrong place? Also, I tried your suggestions of turning off auto column sizing and auto sort, but SmartFTP is still using 95-99% of my CPU when the local browser is displaying the folder with 22,000 files in it. Strangely enough, it does not do this while the Settings window is open though.

I just noticed something else. If I highlight just 1 or a small selection of the files, the CPU useage problem dissapears. However, if no files are selected, or if I select a lot, or all of tem, the problem comes back.

Hello ...

We would like to confirm the problem you reported with the Local Browser. We already fixed this situation on Windows Vista. However we are still working on a solution for Windows 2000/XP.
