Passive (PASV) mode command

Is the passive command good for the entire FTP session (like BINARY), or does the PASV command need to be re-entered every time during the session before doing any sort of data transfer? I am stating that once the data connection port is closed, a new PASV command should be entered to negotiate a new data port, EVEN if the FTP session has not ended.

If you could point me to a conclusive webpage that has this info, I can settle a bet I have with an IBM gentleman.

Hello ..

If you click enable the Pasv button, Passive Mode is enabled for the entire session (until you close the Remote Browser). If you change the data connection method in the favorite settings (recommended) then the setting is permanent.
Note: The Transfer Queue always reads the setting from the Favorite.
