Transfering Read Only Files

Hello.

Whenever I transfer read only files from my computer through SmartFTP to another computer, they are no longer read only (right click, properties, read only) not that chmod or whatever stuff. I need these files to stay read only, is there any way to do this? It's for a game that reads the files and some of the files should only be able to be read by the game (hosted on a computer other then mine) and not re-written in any way.

Unable to reproduce the problem. When uploading SmartFTP doesn't change the file attributes of the local file.

I think Vapourx wants local read-only files to be uploaded and then appied a "CHMOD a-r" automatically. I think this is too much of a special case to support it.

That's what the file looks like before I upload it.

So I upload it




And it is no longer like the first picture, it lost it's read only attribute.

I'm trying to get the file to stay read only after it is uploaded.

Hello ..

SmartFTP doesn't copy the file attributes when you upload a file. The file attributes of the source file are not changed.
