New user - can't upload

Hi

Quick history. Used to upload files (images) to my web space to share with others through I.E. 6 using instructions from my ISP. Simple access to the folder and drag and drop. No problems.

Moved house, set up computer with a Belkin wireless router - default settings. Previous upload method failed - cannot access the folder. Discussed on phone with ISP tech support. He was baffled as he can access the folder through I.E. 6 but I can't using the same commands. Suggested trying FTP.

Downloaded Smart FTP (what a cool looking program ) Checked through tutorials tried to upload file called Color.jpg. Result was this description of process

Please bear in mind I am a long way from being a computer techie if you try and help me!

Hello ..

As you can clearly see in the log file, the problem is on the server side:
[06:56:06] STOR Color.jpg
[06:56:06] 553 Could not create file.

The server doesn't let you create the file.

Possible Reasons:
- No permissions. Make sure you are uploading into the correct folder/directory.
- Verify if there is enough free disk space on the server

Regards,
SmartFTP

Both should be OK as the folder I am trying to upload to has around 150 MB free space and has my existing uploads in it. The ISP tech support do not understand why I can't even see it using I.E.6 as they can using the same commands. I wonder if the new modem/router is blocking the transfer in some way? At least now I can see the existing files which I couldn't before using this program
