Uploading sites

I'm being asked to start SmartFtp and upload 6 folders from an Adsense sites directory to the root folder of my web hosting(usually the public_html folder). I am new to using this software and completely lost as to how to go about executing the above process. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will provide further information if this is not enough. Feel free to ask.
