That's what happens.. basically there's a file called .pureftpd-upload.44cefe2d.15.4413.4fe133d6 that is undeletable.. can anyone please help?

The server won't let you delete the file, because it is a leftover from a failed upload attempt. This is no bug in SmartFTP. You need shell acess or talk to the server admin to delete the file.
