Connection lost when transferring big folders

I am downloading a rather large directory with several subdirectories and a large number of files:

- Around 1,500 files
- Around 17MB

For a while everything goes well, the suddenly I get this error message:

I have tried multiple attempts and the error appears on different points of the transfer, sometimes early and sometimes late. Sometimes the download goes through, but that is rare.

Please help!
